Racial Capitalism
Racial Capitalism and its descendants, colonialism, settler colonialism, and imperialism, exist to direct all modes of power, capital, psychological, spiritual, ideological, you name it, to an insatiable European capital class. All systems within it serve the same function. As a full part of the settler political economy of the U.S., as can be seen in purchases made with wages, the rental of buildings, the paying of taxes, etc, the 501-(c)3 system is no exception. Racial capitalism is an unstable financial, political, and ideological system dominated by a capital-possessing class, the capital class. The system is marked by its furtherance of an almost unlimited accumulation of wealth and private property by this capital class, as well as their hyper nationalism/racism. This accumulation is made possible not only by a theft of indigenous land, an enslavement of African people, settler colonialism, super-exploitation of the labor of non-White people, the abuse of the land, but by a massive and lethal military/police force and an ideological apparatus that normalizes and validates it.
This system is not simply a Europe-versus-the-world arrangement. Complicating matters is its neocolonial element in which in many countries, including the U.S., this accumulation is facilitated by an upper strata of the oppressed people, one that sits between the capital class and the masses of its more highly oppressed people, and derives some benefit from the system. We’d argue that the vast majority of us the upper working class are in this position to some extent, but we can do much more to struggle to redefine our class as one resisting our own reproduction.
